Family Drug Support is the leading provider of family support services in Australia.

Family Drug Support (FDS) is a national caring, secular organisation that provides non-judgmental, non-directive support and information for families and friends impacted by the AOD use of others. Support services and programs for families of others are recognised gaps in most AOD treatment and related services. Since 1997, Family Drug Support has successfully provided programs in this area.

 About the Role:

FDS is seeking an Administration Officer to work with our team in our Blue Mountains office. Competitive salary is offered commensurate with experience for the right applicant.

This position is offered on a part-time basis, with a minimum of 3 to 4 full working days per week. However, for the right candidate seeking full-time employment, we are open to negotiating a full-time arrangement.

Prior office administration experience is essential together with well-developed communication skills and an understanding and commitment to harm reduction.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide day-to-day administrative support to ensure smooth office operations, including managing correspondence, phone enquiries, and supplies
  • Monitor and action the general FDS email inbox, ensuring timely and professional communication
  • Assist with event coordination, including venue bookings, catering, and administrative support before and during events
  • Maintain and update stakeholder and member records in the database, and support the distribution of member materials and newsletters
  • Provide administrative assistance for internal meetings and reporting requirements
  • Ensure compliance with FDS policies, data management protocols, and WHS responsibilities
  • Assist with answering the support line during overflow periods (training provided)

Selection Criteria:

  • Experience in a similar all-rounder administrative role
  • Demonstrated ability to liaise with staff and a range of stakeholders in a friendly and professional manner, and sustain working relationships
  • Well-developed communication skills with the ability to compose quality correspondence, documents and reports in a professional and timely manner
  • Excellent organisational and time managements skills, with the ability to prioritise tasks and meet deadlines
  • Excellent computer literacy with database and Microsoft office skills
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • An understanding and commitment to a harm reduction model
  • Unencumbered drivers licence
  • A satisfactory National Police Check

Remuneration

The salary package includes Social Community, Home Care and Disability Services Industry Award 2010, level 3 (dependent on demonstrated skills and experience & pro-rata where applicable) plus superannuation with an option to salary sacrifice
